Weighing just 735 grams, the GFX100RF/is the lightest model in the GFX series. The newly designed 35mm F4 lens and optimized component layout contribute to its reduced size and weight.

Featuring the GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor and the X-Processor 5, the GFX100RF delivers outstanding image quality. The 102MP high-resolution sensor, paired with advanced pixel and microlens technology, guarantees minimal noise, a broad dynamic range, sharp details at the edges, and accurate autofocus.

High-quality optical components

The GFX100RF is equipped with a new 35mm F4 lens, offering a field of view equivalent to a 28mm lens on a 35mm camera. This makes it perfect for a wide range of photography styles, including landscapes, travel, portraits, and everyday snapshots.

The lens design of the GFX100RF features ten elements arranged in eight groups, including two aspherical lenses to correct sharpness and distortion, ensuring excellent resolution.

The Nano-GI coating, specifically engineered for highly curved lenses, minimizes unwanted reflections even at the image’s edges, maintaining sharpness and detail.

With a minimum focusing distance of just 20 centimeters, the lens is ideal for stunning close-up shots.

When paired with the compact body and the remarkable image quality provided by the sensor, this lens opens up exceptional creative possibilities.

Premium craftsmanship and cutting-edge features

The GFX100RF showcases exceptional craftsmanship, with a top plate made from precision-machined aluminum. Every detail, from the lens ring to the control dials and base plate, has been meticulously designed to deliver a refined aesthetic and a premium tactile experience.

A newly integrated control dial on the back of the camera allows for effortless switching between shooting formats. Users can choose from nine widely used aspect ratios, including the new 3:4 and 17:6 options, to best suit their subject and creative approach.

For enhanced versatility, a digital teleconverter lever is conveniently positioned at the front of the camera, enabling seamless field-of-view adjustments. This feature provides the flexibility to quickly adapt to different shooting conditions. The 35mm focal length (28mm equivalent in 35mm format) can be digitally extended to 45mm, 63mm, or 80mm (equivalent to 36mm, 50mm, and 63mm in 35mm format), allowing for greater compositional freedom.

Advanced technology and performance

The GFX100RF’s fixed focal length is a crucial factor in achieving its compact form. By incorporating a leaf shutter rather than a focal plane shutter, the camera minimizes the flange focal distance, optimizing the internal layout for a more streamlined and portable design.

In addition to its space-saving benefits, the leaf shutter allows for flash synchronization at any shutter speed. This provides photographers with greater creative flexibility, making it possible to capture well-lit images even in bright sunlight.

Improved display and viewfinder

The GFX100RF features a newly designed 8 cm (3.15-inch) tilting LCD monitor with a 2.1-million-pixel resolution and a refined user interface for an enhanced shooting experience.

To optimize usability, the layout of recording icons has been adapted to align with the 3:2 aspect ratio of the screen, ensuring intuitive operation.

The high-resolution electronic viewfinder, boasting 5.76 million pixels and 0.84x magnification, delivers a sharp and precise preview, offering photographers the clearest possible view of their subject.

Additionally, the Surround-View function enhances framing by outlining the capture area based on the selected aspect ratio. Using semi-transparent overlays or lines, this feature mimics an optical viewfinder, allowing photographers to visualize more than just the final frame. It can be toggled on or off via a dedicated lever while using the EVF.
