Optical design
The Summilux-M 90mm f/1.5 ASPH. features a sophisticated design of 8 elements in 6 groups, including two aspherical elements made from specialized glass. A floating element ensures top-tier optical performance across the entire focus range. Even at its maximum aperture, the lens delivers exceptional sharpness and contrast with minimal edge drop-off, as shown in the MTF charts.
With a close-focus distance of 1 meter and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:8.8, the lens is ideal for detailed portraits. Its 90mm focal length and bright aperture fully utilize the Leica M mount, offering razor-thin depth of field.
Designed to minimize vignetting and distortion, the lens also includes a retractable hood for quick and effective stray light protection.
